Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
Search Legal?
I was recently stopped by police while walking down the street.They said I looked like a wanted suspect they were looking for.They asked for my ID however I did not have my drivers license.While the 1 officer was writing down my information the other began to pat me down(terry search)felt something small in my pocket and asked me what it was.I told him it was nicorette gum.He said 'no I'm not stupid thats crack isn't it?!!I said no.he then got aggressive and squeezed my interlaced fingers and used an aggressive tone THATS Crack isnt it!!!agian I said no.He then reached into my pocket and now I am charged with posession f5.I was read my mianda.And kept silent.Is this a legal search or a violation of terry law?

It sounds like a very questionable search. Who was the suspect that you supposedly resembled? In what way do you resemble him? And what was he wanted for? You certainly need to talk to a lawyer as soon as possible. What county are you in?
