Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
Search Warrants
When a search warrant is executed do the law enforcement persons need to issue a receipt for property taken? In this case money.
The scenario that I'm talking about is when a warrant is executed at a Charity Las Vegas Nights and the players money or chips are taken from the table. Should a receipt be issued?

Re: Search Warrants
Yes, generally officers executing a search warrant must leave an inventory of items taken. Take a look at Ohio Revised Code 2933.241.

Re: Search Warrants
The warrant needs to specify what the police are searching for and where they intend to look. They also need to give an itemized list of what was taken, i.e.-poker chips and the value/color and # of chips taken.
