Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio

Sentencing

I am currently charged with Burglary F3.. All I took from this house, which belonged to my friend was a Playstation 2 ($150), because I loaned him money, It's a long story, if you need details, I'll give em to ya.. Well This is my First Felony, my priors are 4 Bad Check Charges, Drug Paraphenilia, and Disorderly Conduct. I wrote a statement admitting that I did it, so I would lose at trial, but I plead Not Guilty, to try and get a plea bargain... What should I be asking for, or trying to get??? What are my chances at sentencing with the judge?? Ever since I've baonded out of jail, I've been going to 3 AA/NA meetings a week to help turn my life around.

Re: Sentencing

When you ask: "what are my chances"? What do you mean? Do you mean: What are my chances of doing jail time?

All courts and Judges are different, many have seen and heard all the same excuses and/or stories about how little they took, or why they took something. If you have no prior jail time, you most likely will not do jail time. If you have been incarcerated before, you may go again.

As you can tell, there is no good answer but as a rule of thumb: 1st and 2nd degree felonies result in jail, 4th and 5th result in community control (probation) and 3rd degree felonies are at the judge's discretion.
