Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
sex offender moves
My boyfriend was talked into pleading guilty to rape of an under age girl in New York state 11 yrs ago. He moved to OH & has been living there for 10 yrs in which he did file when he moved there. He recently moved back to NY and refiled here. He was never told he had to notify OH. He has been in NY for almost 3 months. OH issued a warrant for him. What can he do so he can avoid going to OH to serve time? He hasn't gotten as much as a traffic ticket since this happen in 1996. He has court tomorrow (6/5) at 9am.

Re: sex offender moves
If he wasn't given proper notification he needs to fight the case. There may be other defenses to the case, but you haven't given me much to work with. It is also possible to work out a negotiated plea for probation.
