Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio

shop lifting record

I was convicted of shop lifting. I did the community hours thing and paid the court costs like 350.00 I'd like to know how long this will be on my record. Its been 2 years and 3 months now. I did'nt have any other record before this one. I'm 41 and want to look for a job at UPS and want to know if that will be on my record?? Thankyou, Denise

Re: shop lifting record

It's definitely on your record until you make a Petition for Expungment in that court. You have to sign an affidavit searing that you've never been convicted of any other crimes before or since. Most courts charge $50. Some have forms for it. The time frame is one year after your probation ended.

Call me directly if you want me to do it.
