Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
im almost sixteen and i live in ohio, i wanted to know if i run away from home in ohio if the police will come looking for me and i if i go to a friends house if his/her parents will get in trouble for helping me in my situation? ive heard that when your sixteen the police in ohio dont come looking for you so i just wanted to know the official laws on it.

Uh, nope. You can not "leave" your parents until you are 18. On the other side of the coin, only under rare circumstances can your parents emancipate you and not have to shelter, clothe and feed you as well as making sure you go to high school before you are 18.
And, yeah, if your parents want to make a stink, they can get your friend's parents in trouble.
Your parents can also go to juvenile court and have you declared an unruly child which opens the door to have you incarcerated in a juvy institution.
BUT FIRST, it might be wise to ask your friend's parents to find a local counseling agency with social workers who can come out to your house and assess the family situation and provide guidance. If your parents are violent or abusing you in any way, a call to child protection service is indicated.
