Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
My son who is 31 was ran over deliberatey with a golf cart on july 25, 2010. he received a dislocated shoulder plus other injuries. they are trying to find the guy and press felony assault. my question is, is there any compensation that he can receive for not being able to work. he has gotten a local lawyer, but it hard to tell when he may receive anything from this because the guy who did this doesn't have any insurance. so it will probably be like getting blood out of a turnip.

He may be entitled to Victims of Crine benefits if it was reported to the police, he has incurred economic loss (medical bills and/or wage loss) has not been convicted of a felony in 10 years. It is irrelevant that the wrongdoer cannot be identified. Contact the prosecutors office in the county where you live, they should be able to steer you in the right direction. Feel free to contact me if you wish.
