Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
my son is being release from elkton a federal prison on the seventeenth of August and he is be told he will not be receiving any money when he leave he is schedule to go to a halfway house and my question to you is . is it not a fact that by law they are so suppose to give him some portion of what he earned from the last isx month of incarceration
1 Answer from Attorneys
They should give him money if he did a prison job. However, the amount of money that one earns in prison is often not that much. Did he have any expenses while in prison or use his money on any particular items? This would definitely reduce the amount that he is owed for any work he did.
