Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio

my son is unstable mentally and was recentlly sucidal and was charged with domestic violence and resisting arrest. He has previously applied for disability which included some of his problems. He is severely depressed and has suicidal thoughts, is there any way the charges could be dropped and instead have him get help. He has a very bad back and is weak and did not know at the time of his first court appearing what was going on. What are the chances of him not going to jail and getting help instead . He was on probation at the time of the incident, he is an alcololic and has mood swings and is depressed. We also have mental trouble in the family...the uncle...which he recieves disability for. Please help...my email is [email protected]

You describe a very difficult situation. If there were no prior history of contacts with the criminal justice system then you would stand a better chance of achieving the result you seek. This is the kind of case where the services of an experienced criminal defense attorney is very helpful. I would recommend you hire an attorney.
