Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
Hi speed Pursuits
What are the usual sentencing terms in these cases? In this particular incident nobody was hurt and damages were paid already. One suspect was attained received no time, but he was the passenger. The Driver escaped and have not yet been attained and it's been a year since it took place. Both were juveniles at the time, the driver is now 18 going on 19. In this particular situation what should the driver do? What do you think the outcome would be if the driver face his warrants?

Re: Hi speed Pursuits
Obviously Judges frown on these high speed chases because of the potential danger they present. This case would be in the juvenile Court since defendant was 17 at the time of the offense (however, it is possible it could be moved to the adult court). It would be better if the driver turned themselves in rather than be caught. In my experience, almost all of these offenders are eventually caught. It often happens when a routine computer check is run. Please feel free to contact me if you have further questions. Best regards, Edward diCato
