Speedy Trial
Can you tell me how long from date of arraignment do the courts have before the case goes to the grand jury. I should add that the person in question is incarcerated at the moment.

In compliance with O.R.C. � 2941.40, the Defendant must provide the Clerk of
Courts and Prosecutors office with a written notice and request for final disposition. If the State has failed to bring him to trial within the 180 days as required, the appropriate remedy under R.C. � 2941.40 is a dismissal of all charges for the denial of a speedy trial as requested.
