Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio

Out of State Ticket

Hi,

I live in Ohio and was recently in Connecticut for New Year's Eve. My friend was drunk and drove off of the road, however when the cop came he only wrote us up for simple trespassing. It appeared to be a minor fine, and said I could pay $92 and not show up in court. My friend lives in Connecticut but I live in Ohio. The cop told me I better pay because Connecticut and Ohio have an ''agreement.'' Is there anything that could happen to me in Ohio for not paying? Could I get a warrant in either state if I didn't pay?

Thank you,

Paul

Re: Out of State Ticket

If you do not address the citation in Connecticut, your Ohio driver's license may be subject to suspension. Based on what you wrote in the question, it makes sense to pay the citation.
