Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio

is there a statute of limitations on obstructing justice?

in 1977 I was arrested for obstructing justice. I went to see if i could get my record esponged and they said there was no resolve to the case. I have not been in any trouble with the law since 1978. I want to get rid of my record and be clean. Is there a statute of limitations on obstructing justice? or could i be wanted by the law?

There is a statute of limitations on a misdemeanor charge of obstructing justice, as there is with any offense other than murder. Various things can happen to extend the time limits, however, so it is impossible to say whether the statute has run in your individual case, although it probably has run. Contact any competent criminal defense attorney in your area and that person should be able to help you get this resolved and clear your record.
