Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
theft charge
2 teens exiting a store, one teen was found to have stolen video games. 2nd teen was searched and found to have nothing and mgr says no one saw him take anything, Police come and both teens were charged with theft. How is this possible ?

Easy. Police like to charge people to make sure they at least get an arrest. Additionally, there could be circumstantial evidence that both teams knew of and participated in the theft. He appears to have a more defensible case than the other kid, but being there, along with your friend stealing, makes it seem reasonable to suspect the other teen may have involvement.
