Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
theft
i went to return an item to marcs. after noticing that i forgot my reciept, i went to exit the store.i was stopped and accused of stealing the item that i was to return. i exited the store and recieved a citation an hour later to go to court.the officer asked me if i had the reciept and i showd it to her.i went to court and pleaded not guilty and i another trial date was then set. it is march 1st,2006. this is my first theft charge, but my second misdemeour charge. what am is likely to happen in court, becouse marcs says they have me on camera trying to leave with the item.
i am scared becouse i can not afford to loose my job. I support me and my wife, and pay support for two children.

Re: theft
You need a lawyer. If you cannot afford one, notify the court immediately. Do not try to go to trial without a lawyer. Theft convictions can lead to a six month jail sentence.
