Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio

I was threatened.

I was told by an old neighbor a couple days ago that if he saw me again he was gonna kill me. I think he'd really do it and we live only a few streets apart. There were witnesses to this. I called the police the same day but they never meet me where they said they would. The next day i talked to an officer on the phone and he said he would make a note of it. I don't think the police are going to do anything. I was just wondering if there was anything else i could do and is it possible to press charges?

Re: I was threatened.

Since the neighbor threatened seriousn physical harm, he did commit a crime. This should be followed up by the police and prosecutor. A private individual cannot cannot bring a ciminal case to court. You also have a civil case which could be brought by a private attorney, but up to this point, you have no damages. Going through the police is the proper thing to do. Keep calling them.
