Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
Time Limits
A Man was Charged with receiving stolen property in 02/1986. A Capias warrant was issued 05/1986. After 20 years is the warrant still valid. There is more to this there is an ID issue with this charge. Someone used his name and social security number when they were being charged and never showed up for court. Now he finds out he has had a warrant for twenty years for receiving stolen property

Re: Time Limits
The warrant may still be valid, but it's hard to imagine that there's enough evidence to support a conviction after all these years. He probably should hire a lawyer to run some interference for him. Maybe talk to the police and/or the prosecutor. What part of the state is this in?
