Re: time line on prosecuting aggravated assualt
Under normal circumstances this case would be too old for the prosecutor to go forward with-However-An accurate answer requires more information.
You said your son was arrested. Was he actually taken to jail and put in a cell or just taken in for questioning? Did he ever have to go to Court? If so, which Court did he go to? The municipal or was it the Common Pleas Court?
Has your son been in hiding or did he move out of State and not provide information on his new address?
Do you know if he was served with an indictment? Did have a preliminary hearing in the County or Municipal Court?
If he had an attorney he should be able to find out from the attorney what the status is. If not, give me a call and with more information I should be able to provide you with a better answer!
I have been both an assistant County Prosecutor and a Public Defender. for the past 30 years I have spent a great deal of time representing people who have been seriously injured or wrongfully accused of crimes! No charge or obligation for the confidential call.
Good Luck!
