Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio
Waiver of Prelimanary Hearing
I would like to know why some one would waive their prelimanary hearing? Is it due to the fact that they want a fast and speedy trial?

Re: Waiver of Prelimanary Hearing
Attorneys will waive preliminary hearings when they know the facts that lead to an indictment, once they have reviewed the police report. If there is nothing left to discover and they know that the police have enough to obtain an indictment, then it would be a waste of time.
