19 year old daughter charged with prohibition/beer at party
I am not sure under what law(s) this falls. My daughter was at a party. She is 19 and drank some beer. You need to be 21 in Ohio to consume beer. She had a breath test and was charged with Prohibition. This is her first offense. She pleaded not guilty at her arraignment and her court appearance is scheduled. I am hoping she gets fined at the maximum, but no jail time.
What can we expect to happen ?

It is impossible to state exactly what penalty your daughter will receive. But in my experience, depending on her attitude, the Court will probably just impose a fine and order alcohol counseling. If she is beligerant or acts improperly the Judge will sentence her accordingly.

Both a fine and jail time are possible for this offense. What is imposed depends on your daughter's record, the judge and negotiations with the prosecutor. If your daughter has not secured counsel, I suggest she should do so.
