Legal Question in DUI Law in Ohio

charges for marijuana
a boy who just turned 18 this week got caught after smoking marijuana in a shopping mall parking lot. his friend had a reaction and got very sick. (17 yr old...18 in a couple of months) so the first boy called 911. (another boy left the scene and no one told the officer he was there.) in the end , one boy was taken to the hospital (and was released)and the other was released to parents with charges of posession of marijuana, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, having a pipe. he will face 2charges in court on dec. 27. what type of consequences should he expect/ he has no record/ this is the2nd time he has tried it. the first was when he found out that his cousin died (2 months ago)does he need a lawyer for misdemeanors?
