i have to go to court on Friday for 2 paraphernalia and a marijuana charge and i don't know if i should plead guilty or ask for a public defender

If this is the arraignment, you should plead "not guilty" and get a lawyer, even if it is only a public defender. Your attorney will file a Crim. R. 16 Discovery Request so that you can take a look at the evidence against you and your attorney will examine the case to see if there are any holes in it from a procedural point of view that might justify a plea bargain to lesser charges.
