A DUI is a red flag when it comes to medical school and, more importantly, to the Medical Board. It is very important that you address this issue properly. If there is any way to avoid the DUI conviction you should explore that option (sometimes you can do a pre-trial diversion program).
If you have the conviction already, it is a matter of damage control. You must be prepared to address this issue on Med School applications and on your admission application before the Medical Board.
