Reducing the sentence
My SO was recently convicted of a DUI after a no contest plea. He's had 3 priors, but only 1 in the last 6 years. The judge sentenced him to the maximum of 6 months in jail. Is there anything that can be done to reduce his jail sentence? The clerk of courts said he could write the judge and ask for a review of the case. She also said I could write a support letter. Is this enough or should we consider hiring an attorney? And if we did hire an attorney, would it be a waste of time and money?

Re: Reducing the sentence
Depending on the jurisdiction, it may not be a waste of time to file for a reconsideration in the sentence. It may give your son's case a little more credibility to hire an attorney.
Good Luck!!!!!!
