Medicare
My father was on medicaid and passed away six weeks before my mom. Mom was not on mediciad and had under $10,000 in the bank and an old car worth about $1,000. Medicaid wants the money but not the car. The attorneys we hired have not filed a probate case. It's been 11 months since my dad passed. How do I get the car transferred into my name since I'm the executor of their wills? Should the attorneys have filed right away? We think this should have been all taken care of by now.

Re: Medicare
To get the car transferred you will need soome sort of probate administration since the value of the estate is small you maybe able to do a release from administration.
I would ask your attorneys why they are delaying filing an administration.
