Power Of Attorney
My Mother and Father are in assisted living in Ohio I live in Illinois. Both signed powers of attorney on different dates. My father's signature was notorized, but my mother's did not get notorized. Is her power of attorney legal. It is difficult for me to travel there to have another document signed. I'm hoping her signature is enough to enable me to use the power of attorney. Thanks for your help

Under Ohio law a power of attorney must be signed in front of two independent witnesses and notarized. If your mother is able, she should execute a new power of attorney as soon as possible. Otherwise, you will have to set up a guardianship to take care your mother's affairs.
