Legal Question in Elder Law in Ohio

private health insurance for nursing home

My father is in a nursing facility for skilled nursing care in Ohio. As a retired Army vet he receives Tricare for life. Since the insurance is through the federal goverment it is not easy to handle the paperwork. The facility has not been paid this year so far, but has been paid previously. Now the facility says they can discharge my father without his consent and there is no other places we want him to go. He is receiving excellent care along with my mother. The insurance company does not deny the claim they just haven't paid up and will not give a reason. We are working on this. They want my dad to be on medicade and we refuse to do so as their is not reason for it. They know how much he gets for military benefits and this does not sound legitimate to us.

If your parents are in a good place, then you should fight the insurance company. The insurance company should not be dictating their coverage if he is entitled to it. This is difficult, I know.
