Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio
I have 2 daughters with my ex-husband. I have custody. One wants to go live with him. He is behind 23,500 in child support. If I have one kid and he has the other, I can only assume that child support will equal zero for both of us. But does he still owe the back support? And do I still have the right to claim her as a dependent since he is so far behind?

In Ohio, we have a split child support guidelines worksheet that is used in this circumstance so unless you and he earn the same amount, I would not assume that the child support would be zero.
He will still owe back support until it is paid. You should still have the right to claim her due to the arrearage so long as that is what the order says.
