Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

Help, what to do?

19 years ago my soon-to-be X and I, both single, purchased a home jointly. I contributed 4K and he paid the bulk of the down payment, 36K? At the time, we agreed that if we split, he we both would get back our investment and split any profie. It was a hand written contract. We married 6 mos later. Now, after purchasing 2 subsequent homes together, he wants a divorce & 36K back (I would get my 4K) and split the rest (112 K) I want to just split the 152K, but he is fighting it. We have a son, joint custody, and I need enough to purchase a home. The attorney fees are killing me (13500. so far for me) do you thiink I should just give it up? I gave him an offer of 20K, but he wants the whole thing. Can you advise me?

Re: Help, what to do?

No one can really help you while you are already represented by counsel. It borders on being unethical. That is what your hired attorney is for.
