Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

I have a 14 yr old girl who is living with me but legally her grandmother has custody but doesn't want her except for her money and food stamps. I need to know how to file custody since I am not a family member but she is living with me and her grandmother told me to take her

In Ohio, you are going to need the biological parents and/or the grandparent with custody to sign off on this on an Agreed Entry with the Court. That may be difficult if the grandmother is interested in the government benefits as those would likely stop the moment the court grants custody to another person.

You would also need to show the court that the arrangement with you as custodian would be in the best interest of the child.
