Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

Possible Abandonment

My father moved to New Hampshire on Jul 7, 07, leaving mem his 16 year old son, in Ohio. After Finding out I had missed several days of school this year, he has decided he is pressing legal action to remove his parental obligations, and place me in juvenile detention. The first question is: is this even possible? The next question is could I get the charges dropped (and possibly counter-sue) since he has provided no support to me over the past 3 months? If so, what exact legal process should I go through? Should I make the first move, and press abandonment charges on him immediately? Since I am now over 17, could I possibly file for emancipation since this would mean that both my parents had legally abandoned me?

Re: Possible Abandonment

I think you should contact juvenile court and suggest mediation between you and your parents. This is a much easier process than what your are describing which probably won't get you very far.
