Adopting a friends kids

My wife and I have 2 friends with 2 kids who are interested in having us adopt them because they are unable to care for them and do not want children services involved. Can we legally adopt them and what steps must be taken?

Adoptions are handled in Probate Court. They may insist that you get an attorney involved. It may be better to try the situation on a temporary basis with releases and permission to treat medically before going the adoption route.
