Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio
Adoption of an adult child
My husband was married before. The step daughter (Stephanie)from that marriage has remained a part of his family, many years after that divorce. She is married with children and has no contact with her family. Her mother is institutionalized and her father is remarried also, and could care less about her. Her father and present step mother have made it clear that they have no feelings toward her and her children. We have discussed with her (Stephanie)that it would be nice to adopt her, so she could legally be apart of my husband and mine family. Seeing how Stephanie spends all the holidays and special occasions with us anyway. Is it possible?
