Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio
need advice now
I have been married for 6 years, we have no children and I want out of this marriage. She hasn't worked 6 months out the past 2-3 years and I have been paying all the bills which has put me in a huge financial strain. I don't want to give her the house and everything in it but she is being difficult and doesn't want to compromise. Her not working is by her choice as she was working when we married. I am just wondering how I can go about at least not having to pay her support and pay for the house and her car. What would happen if I moved out right now considering I have told her I want a divorce? I would appreciate any advice you can give me

Re: need advice now
Divorce or dissolution without children of a short-term marriage should be fairly straightforward. You would determine your marital assets and those would get split. Regarding spousal support, that is determined on a case-by-case basis by the court. Moving out of the marital home should not put you in jeopardy of losing your share of the home. You would benefit from consulting with an attorney before taking any kind of action.

I am sorry about your situation. I was in a similar situation once.
I would need more facts before I can fully advise you on your best course of action. It definitely sounds like you are ready to get a divorce and you should if she is not working or supporting the marriage.
I would need more facts before I can tell you how likely it will be that you have to pay her support. For instance, why is she not working? Is she disabled?
