Re: Annulment

Not necessarily. Your church provides the application form and a set fee. It is often not an easy form to fill out. Many couples have civil divorces or dissolutions and annulments handled at the same time, with their attorney at least reviewing the annulment papers. I suggest consulting with a church official about this.

Re: Annulment

You do not "have to" obtain a lawyer to have an annulment. You should-but you do not have to. Your marital status is very important and the last thing you want to have happen is to find out that a marriage that you thought had been annulled or otherwise ended is still valid.

Can you prepare and file the papers yourself? Yes. Should you? No!

Good Luck!
