Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio
Need answers regarding a divorce
I am asking my wife for a divorce. She has left me eight times and I a told her this is the last time to leave me or I am seeking a Lawyer. She said she will not sign the papers and will hold it off for 10 years. Can she hold up a divorce like this. Please let me know as soon as possibe.

She does not have to sign anything. Presuming that you file, the court will set a schedule for trial and in the worst case it should take no more than one year or maybe 2 years depending on the county where the divorce is filed. If she will not agree to anything, then the Court will decide and in the long run the only ones to win are the attorney's as they will get paid more if the case lasts longer.

First, the Court does not require your wife's signature to grant you a divorce. Second, the Court is not likely to allow your wife to unecessarily delay the divorce process. However, depending on the issues to be resolved, (children, property, etc.), it may take a reasonable amount of time to finish the divorce, but the Court will probably have little patience with a party who seeks to delay for the sake of delay.
