bankrupcy

My boyfriend is at the final stages of a divorce and he filed bankrupcy. Now his soon to be ex. told him the divorce will take longer because of it. He filed alone. Is this true and why? Is it up to the judge?

All litigation involving a bankruptcy debtor is automatically stayed upon the filing of a bankruptcy petition by that debtor.
