Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio
Changing Temporary custody to permanent custody
In Oct of 98, my ex-wife asked me to take temporary custody of our 15-year old daughter in order for her to "get back on her feet". She had no job, no place to live, and had not enrolled my daughter in school that year. I paid an attorney $800 to get an "agreed entry" temporary custody. A hearing was set for Jan for my ex-wife to get custody back. My daughter's wish, even though it was not in her best interest, was to be with her mother. 4 continuances(instigated by mother) and 15 months later, my ex-wife still has no job, no place for my daughter to live and is not interested in getting my daughter. I would like to present my own case for permanent custody at the next scheduled hearing. What types of evidence do I need to present to the magistrate?

Re: Temporary to permanent custody
Permanent custody is only available to agencies who require the termination of parental rights to secure an adoptive placement. Temporary custody (like life) is all we individuals get.
