Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio
chikd not wanting visitation
I don't really know where to begin, my 10 year old daughter doesn't want to go for visitation. She breaks down and cries and gets very upset when she has to go. We have tried to compromise but my daughter is getting to the point where she won't even talk anymore and cries at the drop of a hat.I understand my ex's point I would want to see my daughter also but I see her side to why talk if I tell you I want something and you don't listen or you make it seem like it doesn't matter what I want since we will do what you want anyway. What do I do? How do I find an answer that will make everyone happy? I feel trapped in the middle I am supposed to do what is best for my daughter but consider my ex's rights also. My daughter is becoming angry over the whole deal and I feel it is destroying her a little at a time.

Re: chikd not wanting visitation
Remember that the courts will always consider the best interest of the child first, and not the parents' rights. If neither parent is putting the child in the middle, there may very well be some serious parenting issues here. Address the problems with parenting preferably outside of court using professional help.
