Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

Child Custody Changes

My ex-wife and I have shared parenting, she is the resedential parent and I am the custodial parent. She is wanting to move about forty miles away, change the child's school district and change my visitation schedule(I see him every other day). How easy is it for her to do this? What are my rights?

Thanks

Bill

Re: Child Custody Changes

Your ex needs to file a motion with the Court reflecting her intent to move. Failure to do so can result in her being found in contempt. The Court will not stop her from moving, but it will look into the best interests of the child and if you do not propose another shared parenting plan, the Court will impose the standard order of visitation. You should consult an attorney in your area.

Good Luck!!!
