Is there a rule/law with child custody that a parent can only move out of the county if the other parent says they can?

The law places this decision in the sound discretion of the trial court. Most divorce decrees prohibit moving of the custodial parent without approval of the other party, or order of the court. Most courts will not allow moving of the custodial parent without holding a hearing, and making an express finding that it is in the best interests of the child.
