Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

Child Guardianship

I live in Ohio and my Daughter and her family live in Florida. My granddaughter who is 17 wants to move back here to finish school. We contacted the High School and they said she could only attend if her legal guardian was present. We need to know what we can do and how to go about obtaining guardianship as my daughter will stay in Florida.

She is agreeable to this for the purpose of her attending school.

Re: Child Guardianship

You need to move your granddaughter to Ohio and Apply with the Probate Court to be appointed her Guardian. You will need the help of a local attorney to guide you through the local probate Court Rules.
