Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

Child Support adjustment

I was divorced 6 years ago, my ex-husband filed, uncontested, I was never given any paperwork other than the divorce decree. We did not have to go to court, as we already lived in different states. The decree is one signature, his, not mine. t includes a clause that he can claim ou daughter on his taxes every other year, although he has no custody. Can this clause be changed? Also, he was new in the military, and pays a VERY SMALL support payment, he can easily afford to help more, how do I request an adjustment? He pays no expenses, such as daycare, insurance, etc.

Re: Child Support adjustment

It is normal for each of the parties to share the tax exemption as long as he is current on his child support. If you want a review of his child support, you need to talk to the CSEA in the County where either you or he lives and ask for a review of his income. If he fails to comply they have the authority to enforce it with the might of the prosecutors office.
