Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

Do it ourselves child support agreement

MY husband and I are going through a seperation and will be filing ourselves for divorce in the new year. My question is we are doing this very friendly and have worked out everything on our own including childsupport, will the courts agree to this? Its for two children, one 17 and the other 15. It will start out at $400 a month, but drop for a few months when he (my husband) moves out of state so he can get himself set up. Then we will set a new amount. The starting amount is so the girls and I can get off on the right foot and then return the favor to him. By the time he is settled only one child will be left so it will be a less a month. I think that covers all the bases. Thank you for any help you can give me.

Re: Do it ourselves child support agreement

The Court probably agree with what you have agreed to, however, child support is statutorily set and in order to deviate from the formula it must be in the best interest of the children. Therefore, you should state that you are deviating from the formula and that it is in the best interest of the children.

Further Cuyahoga County has specific forms for the entry

Good Luck.

P.S. It is not that expensive to have an attorney review the separation agreement.
