Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

Child Support Arrearages

I receieved a ''Motion to Apply Lump Sum to Arrearages'' from the court. The county Child Support Enforcement Agency claims that I am in excess of $2400.00 in arrearages from 2000. I have a signed and notorized statement from my ex dated Sepember 2001 that there is no amount due and have statements of all payments to date. My attorney has failed me on attempts to rectify.

I live in another state and am unable to attend this hearing.

What documents do I need to file to finally end this matter? Can I accomplish this without an appearance?

Re: Child Support Arrearages

You must get an affidavit together from both yourself, and your ex detailing the payments made, and all of the circumstances. A personal appearance is preferred. Please remember that any payments that did not go through the child support agency are considered gifts under the law.
