Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

child support enforcement

How can my daughter enforce a child support order. Her exhusband rarely pays and child support division is at a loss with what to do. He works mostly on the side. Apparently he is receiving a paycheck the last few weeks but will not tell where he works. So his wages cannot be attached. Is there a way to find out the place of employment? Is there any other options that she can do, the local prosecuter cannot do anything until he is 4 months behind. He always manages to send a small amount before this happens. She has a contempt order against him but it means ver little to the court system. Any advise?

Re: child support enforcement

The squeeky wheel gets the oil. Be persistant with the prosecutor. If need be, promise to go to the local paper about the prosecutors inaction.

Good luck!!! If he is six months behind then it is a criminal offense. Merely paying a pittance does not necessarily negate the crime.
