Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio
child support
hello, and thank you for hearing my question. I was married for 8 yrs. and I have been divoriced for 12, my husband owes me back child support, but my youngest child will be off child support in 4 months, and my ex is telling me that since he doesn't owe the state or county( welfare) any money that I will have to obtain an attorney, and take him to court, becase once all of our children are over 18, the county (csea) will no longer take support directly out of his check. Is this true? Thank you

Re: child support
Yes, as once a child turns 18, and graduates high school, CSEA is no longer involved. Once that happens however, you can ask the court to convert any arrearages against him in child support to a lump sum judgment, which can be collected like any other judgment.
