Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio
Child support
My husband has just given temp. custody of his soon to be 16 year old daughter to her mother. This was a request the daughter made stating that she had never lived with her mother and now wanted too. The mother also stated she wanted the child to come and live with her. He and his family have raised this child since birth. The mother has never paid any type of child support for the first 16 years. If she decides to go for child support now what do we need to be prepared for. Can we go for back child support for the first 16 years?

Re: Child support
The chances of you receiving a child support order for the last 16 years are very slim, absent a compelling reason why you did not seek such an order in the first place. The prior support situation is not a factor in determining present child support.
