child support
My mother has custody of my sisters daughter and my sister is deceased. The father of the child pays support at the moment to my mother my niece is 17 years old. She is going to college next year. Is the father still liable for support and for how long and who do we contact.

Re: child support
Unless otherwise stated in a divorce decree or other Court order, child support terminates when the child turns 18 or graduates high school whichever is later. In order to terminate child support contact your local Child Support Enforcement Agency (CSEA). They may be affiliated with the prosecutor's office.
