Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

Child Support in Ohio

Is there a Statute of Limitation for child support in Ohio? Once a child turns 21, do they or the mother of said child have any legal claim for unpaid child support from the biological father? In this case, child support was already awarded to the mother as terms of a divorce from a previous marriage. Her ex-husband was not the biological father.

Re: Child Support in Ohio

I don't recall seeing one. Which doesn't necessarily mean there isn't. Some of the statutes are changing so quickly, it's dizzying. However, your post was a bit confusing. I'm not sure how a child support order was placed against a step parent in a divorce. I would need some more detail. The other factor is whether or not there was an active support order at any time as to the biological father.
